By RetireMEDiQ

Each year, the Alzheimer’s Association organizes the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in cities all over the country. It is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. RetireMEDiQ is proud to participate in the Miami Valley and Cincinnati Tri-State Walks to End Alzheimer’s for the fourth year in a row. We’re excited to share that RetireMEDiQ’s teams have raised $2,380 for Alzheimer’s Association so far! This year, the Cincinnati Tri-State’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the 13th largest Walk to End Alzheimer’s in the country based on funds raised! What is Alzheimer’s?

According to the Alzheimer’s Association, Alzheimer’s is defined as “a type of dementia that causes problems with memory, thinking and behavior. Symptoms usually develop slowly and get worse over time, becoming severe enough to interfere with daily tasks.”

The Alzheimer’s Association reports that Alzheimer’s is a progressive disease and is the most common form of dementia, a general term for memory loss and other cognitive abilities serious enough to interfere with daily life. Alzheimer’s disease accounts for 60 to 80 percent of dementia cases.
