Medicare Cuts Delayed Through End of 2021

In mid-April, the federal government passed a bill to delay funding cuts to Medicare. Now, any potential funding changes to Medicare and Medicaid are on hold through the end of 2021. This gives Congress more time to come up with a plan for financing and maintaining these programs.

Originally, a two percent funding cut was set to happen this year due to a law passed in 2011. This law required widespread budget cuts to limit federal spending. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on Medicare, these cuts are being given more planning time.

RetireMEDiQ will continue to update you on any changes to Medicare funding and the potential impact on your health care.
